Websol Energy Upgrades Mono PERC Line to TOPCon Technology, Targets 750 MW Capacity Toward 4 GW Expansion

Websol Energy System has started upgrading its existing Mono PERC solar cell manufacturing line to TOPCon technology, marking another step in the company's plan to expand its high-efficiency solar manufacturing capabilities in India. The upgrade is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will increase Websol's total TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity to 750 MW, with TOPCon technology accounting for approximately 55 percent of the company's total cell capacity once complete.

The facility upgrade supports Websol's broader plan to expand its solar cell manufacturing capacity to 4 GW, which the company intends to implement in two phases as part of its long-term manufacturing and technology roadmap in India. By converting an existing Mono PERC production line to TOPCon, Websol aims to boost its manufacturing capabilities in response to growing demand for more efficient solar cells.

The upgrade comes as Websol reported stronger operating performance in Q1 FY27, with module production rising to 103 MW compared to 50 MW in Q1 FY26, pushing capacity utilisation up to 81 percent. The company's order book stood at approximately ₹1,278 crore as of June 30, 2026, reflecting sustained demand for its solar products and providing visibility for near-term manufacturing operations.

The TOPCon upgrade, rising production, and healthy order book position Websol Energy to strengthen its presence in India's rapidly expanding solar cell and module manufacturing sector.
