Waaree Clean Energy Solutions to Set Up Specialty Gases Manufacturing Facility at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, for Semiconductor and Solar Cell Industry

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (WCES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has announced its entry into India's specialty gases business. It will target semiconductor and solar cell manufacturers. The company plans to set up a specialty gases manufacturing facility at GIDC Saykha, Dahej, Gujarat.

WCES said India's semiconductor and electronics expansion under the Semicon India 2.0 programme is raising demand for high-purity gases and chemicals. These are currently sourced largely through imports. The facility is meant to build a domestic supply chain for such inputs. WCES CEO Anuj Sharma said it will serve fabs, OSAT and ATMP facilities, advanced electronics makers and solar cell production lines.

The business will be developed in phases. Initial infrastructure includes semiconductor-grade specialty gases warehousing and ultra-high-purity (UHP) ammonia purification. It also includes phosphine/hydrogen mixing facilities for doping and deposition processes, and UHP oxygen production. UHP hydrogen is already commercially available. WCES also plans custom gas and chemical supply systems and nitrogen plants for customers.

WCES will offer a Total Gas & Chemical Management System covering storage, delivery, safety monitoring and inventory management. Its planned UHP portfolio includes silane, ammonia, nitrous oxide, phosphine mixtures, boron trichloride, trimethyl aluminium, diborane, germane/hydrogen mixes, HBr, SF₆, nitric oxide, fluorinated gases and calibration gases. Supply will run through a pan-India network.

The business builds on WCES's existing clean energy manufacturing capabilities, including its electrolyser stack facility. The source does not state the investment size, plant capacity or commissioning timeline.
