Vietnamese electric car manufacturer VinFat is all set to establish its first production unit in Tamil Nadu.

It is said that the company will manufacture batteries for EVs at its Thoothukudi plant.

The company had earlier announced plans to assembly vehicles shipped in parts from Vietnam.

The company’s objective is to manufacture batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) at this plant, distinct from its previous declaration regarding the assembly of vehicles using parts shipped from Vietnam.

VinFast said in a statement on Wednesday that it would reveal details of its plans at “an appropriate time”.
