Vikran Engineering Wins ₹120.69 Crore POWERGRID Order for 400 kV GIS Substation Extension Across Three States
Vikran Engineering Limited has secured a new order valued at approximately ₹120.69 crore, exclusive of GST, from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for the 400 kV GIS Substation Package SS-147. The contract was awarded through Domestic Competitive Bidding.
The scope of work covers the design, engineering, manufacture, testing, supply, erection and commissioning of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) equipment for augmentation of transformation capacity at three POWERGRID substations: the 400/220 kV Magarwada GIS Substation in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the 765/400/220 kV Vadodara (Vadnagar) GIS Substation in Gujarat, and the 400/220 kV Rajgarh Substation in Madhya Pradesh.
The project entails construction of 400/220 kV GIS bays and allied works, to be executed under two integrated contracts covering supply of goods and services. The augmentation is expected to strengthen inter-regional power transmission, enhance grid reliability and improve power evacuation capacity across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Markhedkar said the order reinforces the company's longstanding relationship with POWERGRID and strengthens its position in the high-voltage GIS substation segment. Vikran Engineering's outstanding consolidated order book stood at ₹5,737 crore as of May 22, 2026, which includes a separate ₹3,517.98 crore turnkey EPC order for a 969 MW solar power project in Maharashtra secured in June 2026 through its subsidiary NOPL Solar Projects.
