Uttar Pradesh Draws ₹43,000 Crore Investment in Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing Sector
Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major electronics and semiconductor manufacturing hub, drawing investments of more than ₹43,000 crore (₹430 billion) across the sector, according to a factsheet released by the state government. More than 200 companies currently operate in the state's electronics manufacturing ecosystem, generating over 300,000 employment opportunities.
The state now accounts for more than 55 percent of mobile phones manufactured in India. Two electronics manufacturing clusters have come up in Gautam Buddh Nagar, housing major companies including Samsung, LG, Haier, Dixon Technologies, Addverb Technologies, Raphe mPhibr and Bhagwati Products. Beyond mobile phones, the state's manufacturing base is expanding into tablets, laptops, consumer electronics, home appliances, solar cells, defence and logistics drones, and robotics.
The UP Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025 has independently attracted over ₹3,800 crore (₹38 billion) in investment since its introduction. On the semiconductor front, the state already hosts a Centre-approved assembly, testing, marking and packaging (ATMP) facility operated by India Chip Private Limited in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), with an investment of over ₹3,700 crore (₹37 billion).
A dedicated 1,000-acre semiconductor park is also being developed in the Yamuna Expressway region, positioned as a future industrial hub for the state's chip manufacturing ambitions. The growth builds on the state's earlier Cabinet-approved HCL-Foxconn semiconductor joint venture near Jewar Airport in YEIDA, which is set to manufacture display driver chips for mobile phones, laptops, automobiles and other display-enabled devices with a design output capacity of 36 million units per month.
