UP Cabinet Approves ₹272 Crore Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster Near Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved an infrastructure development proposal for setting up an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) near the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur. The industrial cluster will be developed under the state's Industrial Corridor Scheme, with the estimated project cost pegged at ₹272.25 crore.
The approval was part of a broader set of decisions taken by the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Alongside the Sultanpur cluster, the Cabinet also approved a major extension of the Ganga Expressway up to Haridwar in Uttarakhand, estimated at ₹10,761 crore and covering around 100 km in Uttar Pradesh with an additional 30-km stretch in Uttarakhand, aimed at establishing a controlled-access expressway connection between Prayagraj and Haridwar.
The Sultanpur cluster's location near the Purvanchal Expressway is intended to leverage the expressway's existing connectivity. It forms part of a larger state initiative to develop Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters along five major expressway corridors — Ganga, Bundelkhand, Agra-Lucknow, Gorakhpur Link and Purvanchal — spanning more than 12,700 acres across 26 districts. The Sultanpur node is among 12 clusters being taken up in the first phase of the programme, which is being implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).
