Bajel Projects JV Wins Bid for Lakadia Inter-State Transmission Project in Gujarat
AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL), a company jointly owned by Bajel Projects (26%) and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (74%), has received a Letter of Intent from PFC Consulting Limited declaring it the successful bidder for an inter-state transmission scheme in Gujarat.
The project, described as the "Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1GW) – Part-A," was awarded after AGPOPL emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) in an e-reverse auction held on August 6-7, 2026, under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.
The project involves construction of approximately 270 km of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines from Halvad to Vadodara in Gujarat, along with additional works at three substations: Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad.
The award follows a collaboration agreement signed in March 2026 between NIIF, Bajel Projects (part of the Bajaj Group) and AnantGrid, a power transmission developer promoted by NIIF, to jointly pursue power transmission opportunities in India through the TBCB route. The partnership combines NIIF's investment and asset management capabilities, AnantGrid's project development expertise, and Bajel's engineering, procurement and construction strengths, in support of India's target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
