Trufrost & Butler Opens Integrated Commercial Refrigeration and Foodservice Equipment Manufacturing Facility in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra
Trufrost & Butler has inaugurated a new integrated manufacturing facility in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, aimed at strengthening domestic production of commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment. Spread across 1.06 lakh square feet, the facility consolidates manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, testing and warehousing operations under one roof. The company describes the plant as India's first integrated, BIS-certified manufacturing hub for premium commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment.
The facility currently runs eight production lines with an installed capacity of 400 machines per shift, supporting growing demand from India's hospitality and foodservice sectors. According to the company, the plant incorporates international manufacturing processes and global technology transfers, with manufacturing teams trained overseas alongside global partners to align production with international standards.
The Bhiwandi unit has secured Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for more than 30 product categories, including soft-serve freezers, coffee machines, pizza ovens, bakery ovens, dough sheeters, bakery mixers, steamers, speed ovens and fryers. A further 25 products are expected to receive certification by July 2026, with select categories also set to receive BEE star ratings.
Neeraj Seth, Co-Founder of Trufrost & Butler, said the facility is a strategic investment to build globally compliant manufacturing capabilities in India, giving the company a foundation to expand capacity, deepen localisation and strengthen product development.
Backed by Carpediem Capital Partners, the company plans to further expand production capacity, increase localisation, and pursue export opportunities in markets including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. No specific investment figure for the facility has been disclosed.
