Godawari Power & Ispat Commissions 6.91 MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh
Godawari Power & Ispat Limited has commenced commercial operations of a 6.91 MW Waste Heat Recovery Based Power Plant at its integrated steel facility in Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, effective June 23, 2026. The project was first announced by the company on April 2, 2026.
The plant utilises waste heat from flue gas generated by the company's Pellet Plant and Ferro Alloys Division to generate power, improving overall energy efficiency at the integrated steel complex. The facility is located at the company's existing manufacturing site in Raipur.
The commissioning forms part of Godawari Power's broader capacity expansion and energy-efficiency initiatives. The company has separately invested ₹100 crore in its subsidiary GNEPL for a battery energy storage system plant and commissioned a 25 MWp solar plant in Chhattisgarh earlier this year, reflecting a wider push toward captive renewable and waste-to-energy capacity across its operations.
