Karnataka is among the top contributors to India's economy and is a major exporter of software, IT services and manufactured goods.

Now during the  Karnataka Investors Summit, several leading electric firms have pledged to make huge investments in the State.

These investments will boost the States' contribution to the electric sector. 

France based company Schneider Electric IT Business India has signed an MoU worth Rs 2,247 crores, with Rs 1,327 crores in MoU and Rs 920 crores committed.

Another French Company Safran Electronics and Defense has signed an MoU for an investment of Rs 225 crores.

German based companies Bosch and Krones have committed to around Rs 1,500 crore investment. Bosch has  committed a total investment of Rs 1,250 crores, with Rs 450 crores in MoU and Rs 800 crores already committed.

Krones AG has committed an investment of Rs 315 crores.

Switzerland based Itachi Energy has committed an investment of Rs 1,000 crores.  

Another Swiss company, SFS has also made investments, but further details are not specified.
