Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem Limited's board of directors has approved a capacity expansion at a new greenfield manufacturing unit at Dahej-III, part of the Dahej Industrial Estate in Bharuch, Gujarat. The project entails an estimated investment of ₹200 crore and is expected to be completed within approximately 21 months.

The new facility will add 344 kilolitres (KL) of reactor capacity dedicated to the production of specialty chemicals. Tatva Chintan manufactures phase transfer catalysts, structure directing agents, electrolyte salts, and pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, among other specialty chemical products, and operates existing facilities in Ankleshwar and the Dahej Special Economic Zone in Gujarat.

To support the expansion and other capital expenditure requirements, the board also proposed increasing the company's borrowing limit from ₹300 crore to ₹1,000 crore, subject to shareholder approval. The move is intended to provide financial flexibility for the Dahej-III project and potential future capacity additions.

The expansion is aimed at strengthening the company's manufacturing infrastructure to meet growing demand across its specialty chemicals portfolio, with the company citing market opportunity in segments including phase transfer catalysts and structure directing agents as India seeks to expand its share of the global specialty chemicals export market.
