Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited is entering solar ingot and wafer manufacturing with an investment of around Rs. 6,500 crore.

The proposed 10 GW facility will strengthen backward integration in the solar value chain, complementing existing module and cell capacity.

India currently depends heavily on imports for wafers and ingots, making this investment strategically significant.

The move aligns with India’s push for self-reliance in renewable energy manufacturing under PLI schemes.
