Tata Electronics Says ₹91,000 Crore Dholera Fab and Assam Packaging Plant on Track; Plans 363-Acre Vendor Park and Nexperia Manufacturing Partnership
Tata Electronics CEO and Managing Director Randhir Thakur said the company's semiconductor fab at Dholera, Gujarat, and its packaging facility in Assam are on track to meet the schedules committed to the government. He spoke at SEMICON India 2026. The company plans to sign 16 agreements at the event with firms in Europe, Japan, Singapore and India.
The fab is being built with Taiwan's PSMC and is approved at a cost of ₹91,000 crore. The Assam plant at Jagiroad, Morigaon, is an assembly and test facility approved at ₹27,000 crore.
Tata Electronics will develop a 363-acre plug-and-play vendor park near the Dholera fab with a reputed Singapore-based developer. The fab is expected to draw on about 450 suppliers, who can acquire land in the park. The park will have power, water, utilities and road infrastructure.
Tata Electronics and Nexperia also announced a partnership covering wafer fabrication, back-end assembly and test, and technology development. Nexperia's MOSFET portfolio is to be produced at the 300mm Dholera fab, which is still under construction. Its discrete semiconductor products will be assembled and tested at Jagiroad. The companies did not disclose terms.
