Suzlon Bags 400 MW Wind EPC Order from Tata Power Renewables in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh
Suzlon Energy has secured a new EPC contract from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, for a 400 MW wind energy project. The order, awarded within 12 months of the previous one, marks the fourth project given to Suzlon by TPREL and takes the companies' cumulative partnership beyond 1 GW across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
The project will be executed in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh. As part of the contract, Suzlon will install 127 of its S144 wind turbine generators, each rated at 3.15 MW. With this order, Suzlon's order book in Andhra Pradesh stands at close to 1 GW; the company's existing installed base in the state is 1.8 GW, accounting for about 28.44% of its installed capacity in South India.
The project is being delivered under Suzlon's DevCo-led EPC model, which covers land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant works, pooling substation, extra-high-voltage transmission line construction, commissioning, and operations and maintenance services.
