Surya International has bagged an EPC contract for a 200 kW solar-hydrogen-BESS microgrid in Chushul, Ladakh.
Tendered by NTPC REL, a subsidiary of NTPC, the project is a collaboration with NTPC and the Indian Army to provide uninterrupted green power to remote defense locations. The microgrid will replace diesel generators, cutting carbon emissions by 1,500 tonne annually. The project will be designed to withstand temperatures as low as -30°C and function at an altitude of 4,400 mtrs.
Valued at Rs 102 crore, this advanced solar-hydrogen microgrid will generate 200 kW/hour of continuous power throughout the year.
This is Surya International’s third hydrogen project, following its hydrogen mobility station in Himachal Pradesh for NHPC and an alkaline hydrogen electrolyser developed with BARC’s support for HPCL in Bengaluru.
