Spain's Submer Group to Invest ₹19,000 Crore ($2 Billion) in Semiconductor and Data Centre Facility in Madhya Pradesh
Spain's Submer Group has announced an investment of USD 2 billion (approximately ₹19,000 crore) in semiconductor and data centre infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh. The announcement was made at the MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0: GCC – Data Centres and Semiconductors event in Bhopal, and follows an MoU signed between the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) and Submer Technologies in July 2025.
The project is expected to generate nearly 5,000 direct jobs, along with additional indirect employment. According to state officials, a land allotment request for the project was processed within six days, with 15 acres allocated in the Acharpura Industrial Area.
Submer Group specialises in immersion cooling technology for data centres and high-performance computing, using specially formulated liquid to cool servers and semiconductor devices as computing density and AI-driven workloads increase. The Madhya Pradesh government positioned the state's central location, land and power availability, and policy support for electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) as factors behind the investment decision.
A Semiconductor Centre of Excellence is also planned in the state to support skill development. The state government said cumulative foreign direct investment commitments from Spain, Canada, the UK, Japan and South Korea in Madhya Pradesh have now crossed ₹28,200 crore, alongside other technology infrastructure announcements including a 400,000 sq. ft. IT park in Bhopal and a plug-and-play campus at the Satgarhi Smart Industry Park.
