Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has closed a ₹1,750 crore (about USD 180 million) Series C round, entirely in equity. The company says the funds will go towards a new manufacturing facility, higher production, and expansion of its sales and service network.

Part of the capital will also fund hiring, marketing, supply chain operations, and research and development for the company's next product cycle. The company has not disclosed the location, capacity or timeline of the new manufacturing facility.

The company currently has a stated production capacity of 10,000 units per month. It targets monthly capacity of up to 12,000 units by March 2027. It operates more than 80 outlets across over 60 cities and plans to expand its distribution network to around 150 outlets by the end of FY27.

Simple Energy makes key components in-house, including the chassis, battery, motor and software. Its portfolio includes the Simple Wave and Simple Ultra, both introduced in the past eight months.

Details of the new plant have not been announced. They will determine opportunities for EPC contractors, plant and machinery suppliers, and battery and motor assembly equipment vendors.
