SIAM cement BigBloc construction launches India operations with AAC Wall plant
Building Materials - Jun 12,2024 -SIAM Cement BigBloc Construction Technologies has launched its India operations, with the commercial production of its first plant for AAC Walls and AAC Blocks at Kheda in Gujarat. The plant was inaugurated in the presence of The Ambassador of Thailand to India, H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Minister Industries, MSME, Government of Gujarat, Balvantsinh Rajput, along with senior officials from SCG International, BigBloc Construction on 10 June, 2024.
The company which is a joint venture (JV) between Gujarat based BigBloc Construction and Thailand’s SCG International has invested around Rs 65 crore in setting up the 2.5 lakh cubic mtrs. per annum capacity project. This is SCG Group’s first investment in India.
The facility will have India’s first AAC Wall plant, and the company would launch large format AAC Wall products of 8-12 ft. of two ft. width with thickness of 3-8 inch.
The plant will generate 250 employment opportunities and at full capacity, it can generate Rs 100 crore per annum in revenue. The project has the potential to expand to five lakh cubic mtrs. per year in the second phase.
The AAC Wall will be marketed under the brand name ‘ZMARTBUILD WALL by NXTBLOC’. The JV firm looks forward to sharing techno-commercial knowledge, and working on building material solutions to strengthen the supply chain in India by leveraging each other's capabilities in the construction sector.
