Rs 550 crore Mother Dairy plant at Butibori soon: Nitin Gadkari

T Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, essentially set the groundwork for Mother Dairy's planned mammoth milk processing factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

On the first day of Agrovision 2023, a virtual foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of Manish Bandlish, the managing director of Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Meenesh Shah, the chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB); and Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, the minister for revenue, animal husbandry, and dairy development, government of Maharashtra.

The greenfield facility, which would be established with an investment of more than Rs 500 crore, will be located in Nagpur's Butibori Industrial Estate on a vast 25-acre campus.

The upcoming facility will have a processing capacity of 6 lakh litres of milk per day, expandable upto 10 lakh litres per day, and will manufacture poly pack milk, along-with other value-added dairy products like ice creams, chaach, lassi, paneer, etc.

On the occasion, Gadkari said that it is indeed an auspicious day as with the collective efforts of the Government of India, Government of Maharashtra and NDDB-Mother Dairy, we are marking a new beginning of dairy development in the regions of Vidarbha and Marathwada.
