Power Grid Corporation estimates capital expenditure of Rs 1.9 lakh crore by 2032

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has projected capital expenditures of Rs 1.88 lakh crore by 2032. 

By 2032, the corporation plans to invest a total of Rs 1.16 lakh crore in inter-state transmission projects, Rs 37,000 crore in intra-state transmission projects, Rs 10,000 crore in cross-border business, and Rs 7,500 crore in foreign activities.

Throughout the contract, the state-owned transmission utility would also invest Rs 15,000 crore in smart metering infrastructure.

The company plans to expand its renewable energy portfolio by incorporating solar power projects, for which it has budgeted Rs 1,000 crore for the same time frame.

The company's capital expenditure target for the ongoing fiscal is Rs 8,800 crore which may extend to Rs 10,000 crore on the back of several projects we have received.

Till September, the company made a capital expenditure of Rs 4,246 crore.
