PMC to Build New 200-Bed Facility for Annasaheb Magar Hospital in Hadapsar, Pune

Hospitality and Healthcare Aug 06,2026

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is planning a new 200-bed building for Annasaheb Magar Hospital in Hadapsar, aimed at strengthening civic healthcare infrastructure in Pune's rapidly growing eastern corridor.

Under the plan, the new multi-storeyed facility will be built within the existing hospital campus while the current building continues to function, allowing services to continue uninterrupted until the new structure becomes operational. Once complete, the new building will take over as the primary facility, after which the older structure will be considered for redevelopment.

Municipal officials cited structural limitations in the existing hospital building, which dates to the mid-20th century, along with waterlogging risks during monsoon periods and outdated layouts, as reasons for the redevelopment. The project is intended to serve rising healthcare demand from areas such as Hadapsar, Phursungi and Uruli Devachi, which have seen substantial residential growth.

The planned facility is expected to include upgraded operation theatres, improved diagnostic services, expanded emergency care infrastructure and enhanced patient amenities.
