Cipla to Invest ₹200 Crore in Bommasandra Plant Expansion, Rocket India Commits ₹100 Crore for Gokak Facility in Karnataka
The Karnataka government secured fresh investment commitments from Cipla and Rocket India during a two-day investment roadshow in Mumbai, led by Minister for Large and Medium Industries M.B. Patil.
Cipla will invest an estimated ₹200 crore to expand its pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bommasandra, Bengaluru. The company has already begun the expansion work, with production from the expanded unit expected to start by December this year.
Separately, Rocket India will invest ₹100 crore to expand its plant-based protein manufacturing facility in Gokak, Belagavi district.
During the roadshow, the Karnataka delegation also held discussions with representatives of Blackstone, Saint-Gobain, Horizon, Henkel, KEC International and ideaForge Technology, though no specific investment commitments from these companies were disclosed.
The proposed expansions are expected to support capacity addition in the pharmaceutical and food manufacturing sectors as part of the state's broader effort to attract fresh industrial investment.
