PM Modi lays foundation stone of Thane ring metro project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several infrastructure initiatives in Thane, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai. These are worth over an estimated Rs 32,800 crore.

In a major move to enhance urban mobility, PM Modi inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 14,120 crore.

This section features 10 stations, with 9 of them underground. Once fully operational, this line is projected to serve about 12 lakh passengers daily.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the following projects:

-The Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, an ambitious venture has an estimated cost of 12,200 INR-Crore. Spanning approximately 29 Km, it will include 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This project directly addresses the transportation needs of Thane, a thriving industrial and commercial hub in Maharashtra.

-The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, stretching from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, will further provide seamless connectivity from South Mumbai to Thane.

- Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project worth an estimated 2,550 INR-Crore. It focuses on the development of arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, and integrated utilities.

- Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension.
