GHMC launches Rs 826 crore project to improve traffic flow

Infrastructure  -  Oct 08,2024  -

The Telangana Government has sanctioned projects worth around Rs 826 crore for improvement of all the six junctions around KBR Park by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

The orders accorded administrative sanction of Rs.421 crore under the H-CITI for construction of flyovers and underpass at the junctions of Jubilee Hills Checkpost, KBR Entrance, Mugdha junction and Rs.405 crore for the junctions of Filmnagar, Maharaja Agrasen and Cancer Hospital junction.

The GHMC said the construction of grade separators at six major junctions around KBR Park would ensure the traffic moves without any hindrance across the identified cross roads.

The junctions have been designed to ensure that the entire area will be conflict free and traffic can flow in an uninterrupted manner.

The traffic going clockwise will travel in a series of underpasses while traffic going counter clockwise will flow through a series of flyovers, the GHMC said adding that designs of rainwater retention structures were incorporated at underpasses to make sure these places do not become bottlenecks during monsoons.

The junction improvement initiative is to address the issue of heavy traffic flow across multiple junctions located near the KBR Park.
