PM GatiShakti's Network Planning Group Evaluates 396 Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹18.66 Lakh Crore
As many as 396 infrastructure projects with a combined estimated cost of about ₹18.66 lakh crore have been evaluated through the Network Planning Group (NPG) mechanism under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, according to data compiled by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Of these evaluated projects, 256 have been sanctioned, and 198 are currently under implementation. The projects span sectors including roads, railways, ports and waterways, power, petroleum and natural gas, civil aviation, telecommunications and industrial corridors.
The NPG, constituted under the PM GatiShakti framework, evaluates critical infrastructure projects to ensure integrated planning, multimodality, synchronisation across departments, and last-mile connectivity. All logistics and connectivity infrastructure projects entailing investments of over ₹500 crore are routed through the NPG for coordinated review.
Launched in October 2021, PM GatiShakti has onboarded all 36 states and union territories and 58 central ministries and departments onto its National Master Plan platform, integrating around 1,800 data layers and more than 65 software modules. States have also been encouraged to expand use of the platform for district-level planning, as the government continues to scale up coordinated infrastructure investment across the country.
