PepsiCo India has inaugurated its flavour manufacturing facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of ₹1,266 crore. The plant is PepsiCo India's second flavour manufacturing facility in the country and will produce beverage concentrates for the company's portfolio.

Built on a 22-acre site, the facility forms part of PepsiCo's ₹5,700 crore investment commitment for India through 2030, announced in May. The broader pipeline is aimed at expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening supply chains and enhancing sustainability across the company's Indian operations.

The Ujjain plant is expected to generate around 500 direct and indirect jobs and is designed to operate on renewable electricity, incorporating zero liquid discharge technology and water-efficiency measures. PepsiCo said it intends to replenish 100 percent of the water used at the facility.

The project was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, alongside senior PepsiCo executives including Eugene Willemsen, CEO of International Beverages, and Jagrut Kotecha, CEO for India and South Asia. It is PepsiCo's ninth flavour facility globally and its second in India.

Beyond direct manufacturing operations, the facility is expected to support development of a wider food and beverage manufacturing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh, encouraging investment in supporting infrastructure and ancillary industries across the region.
