PCPIRs in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Attract ₹3.49 Lakh Crore Cumulative Investment
The Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Regions (PCPIRs) located in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have collectively attracted nearly ₹3.5 lakh crore in investments, according to information shared by the government in the Rajya Sabha.
Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Anupriya Patel stated that the three operational PCPIRs have attracted a cumulative investment of ₹3,49,192 crore. This has facilitated the establishment of 2,246 industrial units and generated employment for 3,71,263 people across the regions.
The three operational PCPIRs are located at Dahej in Gujarat, Visakhapatnam–Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, and Paradeep in Odisha. These integrated industrial regions continue to serve as key hubs for investment in the petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals sectors.
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers continues to monitor infrastructure development across the three PCPIRs through periodic review meetings with the respective state governments. Under the PCPIR Policy, state governments are responsible for developing and providing the necessary infrastructure within their PCPIR regions to support ongoing industrial expansion.
