Paradeep Phosphates Approves ₹250 Crore Greenfield Aluminium Fluoride Plant at Paradeep

Chemicals Jul 29,2026

Paradeep Phosphates has approved the construction of a greenfield Aluminium Fluoride (AlF3) manufacturing plant at its existing Paradeep facility in Odisha. The board resolution was passed on July 28, 2026, sanctioning an estimated investment of approximately ₹250 crore.

The plant will have a capacity of 15,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA) of AlF3. The facility will process Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFSA), a by-product generated during the company's phosphoric acid production, converting it into Aluminium Fluoride, an input used in aluminium smelting and other industrial applications.

The project falls under the industrial chemicals sector, with a specific focus on fluorine chemicals. It is designed to add a fluorine-based product line onto the company's existing phosphatic operations at Paradeep, using an internally generated raw material stream rather than externally sourced inputs.

Company management indicated the project is intended to strengthen fluorine management capabilities at the site and lay groundwork for future expansion into fluorine-based specialty chemicals. No commissioning timeline was disclosed in the company's filing.

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The AlF3 plant approval was announced alongside the company's board meeting held on July 28, 2026.
