Orient Cement Limited has completed the first phase of its Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) at its Chittapur Integrated Cement Plant in order to utilise waste heat from the pyroprocessing system.

The AQC Boiler, along with the Turbine and Air Cooled Condenser, which account for approximately 80% of the generation capacity, has been successfully commissioned.

The building of a preheater boiler is currently underway, and it will be commissioned in the near future.

After the second phase is completed, the total gross power generation capacity of WHRS will be 10.1 MW.
