Power Generation Aug 07,2026

Oriana Power Limited has executed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Maharashtra to establish an integrated clean energy production facility. The company plans to invest approximately ₹4,500 crore to construct plants for manufacturing green hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol.

The project will be developed in a phased manner under prevailing state industrial policies. Under the agreement, the Maharashtra government will provide regulatory clearance facilitation and fiscal incentives to support the development.

The MoU adds to Oriana Power's broader clean energy pipeline, which includes an existing 60,000 MTPA green ammonia plant under execution in Madhya Pradesh, backed by a ₹3,135 crore Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The company's current order book stands at ₹6,612 crore.

Land allocation and definitive agreements for the Maharashtra project are expected to follow as the next steps, along with announcements on funding and equity partners.

The project comes as Maharashtra continues to position itself as a hub for green hydrogen investment; the state has separately signed MoUs worth ₹2,76,300 crore with companies including NTPC Green Energy, ReNew eFuels, AVAADA Green Hydrogen and others for green hydrogen production capacity.
