Odisha Signs MoU with IHC and Adani Group in Abu Dhabi for 14 Projects Worth ₹2.10 Lakh Crore
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on a visit to the UAE to attract investment, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Abu Dhabi between the Odisha government, UAE-based International Holding Company (IHC) and the Adani Group. The MoU will explore 14 new projects involving an estimated investment of ₹2,10,500 crore, with the potential to create around 8,68,200 jobs.
The proposed projects span metal downstream industries, slurry pipelines, critical minerals and rare earths, chemicals and petrochemical derivatives, renewable energy equipment, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, tourism, skill development and sports infrastructure.
Discussions also reviewed progress on an integrated aluminium project in the state. Odisha has proposed land in Rayagada district for an alumina refinery and in Sundargarh district for an aluminium smelter.
The Chief Minister separately met members of the Indian Business and Professional Group in the UAE and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to boost trade and investment between Odisha and the UAE, covering exports of turmeric, ginger and seafood as well as contract manufacturing opportunities.
In another meeting, the Chief Minister invited UAE-based petrochemicals company Borouge to explore setting up a large chemicals downstream complex in Odisha, with potential feedstock linkages to Indian Oil Corporation's planned naphtha cracker at Paradip. He also held discussions with UAE-based investment institutions on participating in Odisha's infrastructure projects, including ports, through public-private partnerships.
