Odisha inks three MoUs to develop semiconductor manufacturing

Chemicals  -  Nov 06,2023  -

The government of Odisha inked memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with three organisations in order to create an ecosystem for the production of semiconductors.

The state government signed Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) with Synopsys and Electronics, the Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), and the India Electronic and Semiconductor Association (IESA).

Under the terms of this agreement, IESA will assist the state government in creating initiatives aimed at enhancing capacity and advancing the semiconductor ecosystem by organising events and conceptualising educational materials.

Collaboration will be a part of Synopsys in areas like the O-Chip programme, talent transformation, workforce development, state readiness assessment in semiconductors and very large-scale integration (VLSI) domains, and support for internship and placement for state engineering institution students.

Further, ESC will promote electronics and IT/ITeS exports from the country.
