NTPC has officially announced the commercial operation date of the Chatti Bariatu coal mining project in Jharkhand. The operations will be effective from 01 April, 2024. The declaration comes following the project's adherence to approved norms and standards.
Chatti Bariatu is the second coal mine of NTPC in Hazaribag district in the state, after the existing Pakri Barwadih coal mining project, which started in 2016.
The project's success exemplifies NTPC's commitment to fulfilling the country's energy requirements in an efficient and environmentally-conscious manner.
Besides, NTPC plans to set up 2,400 MW (3x800 MW) coal-based Nabinagar STPP (Stage-II) in Aurangabad district of Bihar. The power utility is awaiting environmental clearance for the project.
