NLC India has been declared the lowest bidder for the new Patrapara South coal mine project in Angul district of Odisha.

The public sector enterprise signed the coal mine development and production agreement with the Ministry of Coal, as the third commercial coal mine for NLC.

The announcement came after the commercial coal block e-auction held by the Ministry on 21 November, 2024.

In November, the company had stated that it would infuse Rs 3,720 crore in its subsidiary, NLC India Renewable, in one or more tranches for the various renewable projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
