Nissan Chemical Corporation, through its Indian subsidiary Nissan Bharat Rasayan (NBR), is setting up a dedicated manufacturing facility in India for its new paddy rice herbicide “Ryzonic” (iptriazopyrid).

The facility will be developed at the existing Saykha, Gujarat site, where NBR already operates a plant, and is expected to begin operations in FY2028. The herbicide is scheduled for launch in Japan and India in 2027, followed by phased global expansion.

The plant is aimed at ensuring a stable and scalable supply chain to support rising demand for Ryzonic and strengthen Nissan Chemical’s position in the crop protection market, particularly in the rice herbicide segment.

Overall, the project reflects a broader trend of global agrochemical firms expanding manufacturing in India to leverage its production ecosystem and large agricultural market.
