Navitas Solar To Invest ₹1,500 Crore For 3.6 GW Solar Cell Plant And Pilot Wafer-Ingot Line In Ankleshwar, Gujara
Navitas Solar will invest around ₹1,500 crore to expand its Ankleshwar manufacturing campus in Gujarat by establishing a 3.6 GW solar cell plant and a pilot wafer-and-ingot production line. The project marks the company's entry into solar cell manufacturing and strengthens backward integration across the solar value chain.
The expansion includes ₹1,400 crore for the solar cell facility and ₹100 crore for the pilot upstream manufacturing line. The first phase is targeted for commissioning in 2027, with construction already underway. The project is expected to create nearly 1,000 direct jobs and support India's growing demand for domestically manufactured solar cells under the upcoming ALMM List-II framework.
