Mother Dairy to embark on capacity expansion with Rs 1,500 crore investment

Mother Dairy plans to invest Rs 1,400 crore-Rs 1,500 crore to enhance its production capacity over the next two to three years. 

The company, which currently operates 12 plants, is expanding with three new facilities in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Nagpur, Maharashtra.

“The construction of Nagpur dairy plant has already started,” Managing Director Manish Bandlish confirmed. In FY25, the company expects a 13 percent revenue increase from Rs 15,000 crore to Rs 17,000 crore.

A wholly owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board, Mother Dairy supplies products primarily in Delhi-NCR,. It has expanded into Mumbai and Kolkata, reaching 400,000 retail outlets nationwide. 

The company operates across three main sectors: dairy, food & utilities (Safal), and edible oil (Dhara). Its primary sales channel is general trade, with modern trade and e-commerce contributing 8-10 percent.
