MKC Infra wins Indore Western Bypass’ Package 1 contract

Infrastructure  -  Mar 14,2024  -

MKC Infrastructure was declared as the lowest bidder for the civil construction contract of 34 km Package 1 of the Indore Western Bypass project on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).

This 64 km long six lane expressway with 2 packages by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) along with 76 km Indore Eastern Bypass project will essentially form the 140 km Indore Ring Road project in Madhya Pradesh.

NHAI had invited bids for both packages of the Western Bypass on December 15, 2023 with a 2 year construction deadline. Technical bids were opened in late-February, and evaluation was completed this past Monday to reveal 8 firms had qualified for Package 1’s construction.

Interestingly, MKC Infrastructure was originally disqualified due to issues with their bid security which they addressed to get re-admitted in the process. The next two lowest bidders – Brig Gopal and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. were also deemed ineligible for different reasons, but got also re-admitted, which really makes you wonder why even have a technical evaluation process in the first place.
