Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Approves ₹1,359 Crore Four-Laning of NH-62 Nagaur–Bikaner Stretch in Rajasthan
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has granted approval for four-laning of the National Highway-62 corridor between Nagaur and Bikaner in Rajasthan. The project is estimated to cost ₹1,359.33 crore and will be developed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT-Toll) concession model.
The upgraded four-lane corridor is intended to strengthen road infrastructure across western Rajasthan, improving travel efficiency and facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers between Nagaur, Bikaner, and adjoining districts. State government officials have also cited expected benefits to industrial development, tourism, and regional investment through improved access.
Detailed construction scheduling, the bidding process, and concessionaire selection are yet to be announced. Further procurement activities will be undertaken in accordance with the approved project framework.
