McCain Foods Invests ₹3,800 Crore in Frozen Potato Processing Plant in Agar-Malwa, Madhya Pradesh

McCain Foods will set up a ₹3,800 crore frozen potato processing plant in Agar-Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, its second India facility after Gujarat. MPIDC has allotted 70 acres for the project.

The plant will produce frozen French fries, potato flakes, wedges, and hash browns for domestic and export markets. Phase 1 investment of ₹1,500–1,800 crore includes processing lines, cold storage, utilities, and automation facilities, with construction underway.

The facility will procure up to 2.5 lakh tonnes of potatoes annually and support over 20,000 farmers through contract farming. It is expected to create 2,500+ jobs (600+ direct in Phase 1).

The project is part of a growing food processing investment push in the Ujjain region, where commitments from multiple companies have crossed ₹8,300 crore.
