L&T Power Transmission & Distribution Wins EPC Order for Transmission Lines and Substations System in Visakhapatnam from Private Developer
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order in India. The client is a private sector developer, which the source does not name. The order is for setting up a transmission system in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The scope comprises transmission lines and substations. The source does not give the voltage level, line length, number of substations, order value or completion timeline for this order.
Joji Sebastian, executive vice-president and head of PT&D at L&T, cited growing demand for grid strengthening and renewable energy integration. L&T's PT&D business covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of transmission lines, substations, underground cable networks and distribution networks.
L&T announced the Visakhapatnam order alongside other transmission and substation orders in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These overseas orders are not covered here.
