Eyewear major Lenskart will invest Rs 1,500 crore to set up an eyewear manufacturing factory in Telangana, slated to be the world’s largest eyewear manufacturing facility in Telangana.

The facility will make eyewear, lenses, sunglasses as well as accessories and other products catering to India as well as exports to other markets in South East Asia and the Middle East.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked in the presence of Telangana industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on 08 December, 2024.

The facility will come up at Fab City, where land is already identified and will be handed over to the firm this week. Favouring the ease of doing business in the state, the company may also later set up and R&D facility in the state.

The new plant will lead to the creation of around 2,100 employment opportunities.
