Kinet Railway Solutions on 3 September, 2024 announced the commissioning of the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory (MRCF) at Latur in Maharashtra.

This ceremony marks the start of preparation for the production capabilities of the facility, towards the serial assembly of Vande Bharat sleeper coaches.

In terms of employment and supporting ancillary industries, more than 10,000 people will be involved in the entire production chain. MRCF is spread over 351 acres.

Moreover, the facility will be equipped with 11 advanced assembly stations, and will house specialised workshops including car body shop, warehouse, assembly, testing, and others. Kinet is a joint venture between Indian Railways and a Russian major.
