Kerala receives proposals worth Rs 30k crore for green projects

Power Generation  -  Aug 03,2023  -

Two significant businesses have submitted plans to the Keralan government for the construction of green hydrogen and green ammonia manufacturing facilities for both domestic and international use.

One of the businesses intends to build an integrated renewable energy project that will satisfy the green ammonia plant's round-the-clock (RTC) energy needs and permit the export of one lakh tonnes of green ammonia to Germany through the Vizhinjam Adani port.

The project will be a solar installation paired with a pumped hydro storage facility within the state, and offer the flexibility to support state power utilities for their peak hour requirements.

As per the state policy, the Kerala State Electricity Board will invest in the pumped-storage power plant, which would provide RTC renewable energy.
