Jakson Green Targets 12.5 GW Operational Renewable Portfolio in 24 Months, Advances 85,000 TPA Green Ammonia Project at Gopalpur SEZ
Jakson Green is targeting a commissioned operational fleet of 12.5 GW over the next 24 months. This includes 2.5 GW of independent power producer (IPP) projects and around 9.5 GW of EPC projects. The portfolio also includes 500 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects and 7 GW in operations and maintenance. Some projects are already commissioned, while others are in development, construction or commissioning. The company aims to reach 30 GW of renewable IPP and EPC capacity by 2030.
About 1 GW of IPP projects is fully financed and under execution. The remaining IPP projects are in discussions with lenders for financial closure. These projects have secured land, permits, connectivity and power purchase agreements. For its IPP and BESS business, the company is bringing in partners through special purpose vehicles and recycling capital from stake divestments.
Jakson Green recently won a green ammonia project awarded by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The project has an annual offtake of 85,000 tonnes and is under development. Land for ammonia production at the Gopalpur Special Economic Zone has been acquired, and front-end engineering and design is complete. Construction of the green hydrogen production project is expected to start by the end of 2026.
Land is being acquired for the renewable assets that will feed hydrogen and ammonia production. Construction of those assets will begin in the first quarter of 2027. Under the offtake agreement, the commissioning deadline is the end of 2028. Supplies to Coromandel International will start in the first quarter of 2029.
