Jabil Inc has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Pune, located within the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) industrial zone. The facility expands the company's manufacturing footprint in India from 500,000 square feet to 1.2 million square feet within the past year. Over the same period, Jabil's workforce in India has grown from approximately 5,000 to nearly 11,000 employees.

The new facility is intended to strengthen Jabil's manufacturing and engineering capabilities for customers across telecommunications, artificial intelligence cloud data centres, automotive technologies and digital commerce sectors.

Executive Vice President of Operations Andy Priestley said the expansion brings together skilled talent, engineering expertise and manufacturing capacity to support delivery at scale from India.

The announcement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state's industrial ecosystem and skilled workforce continue to attract global manufacturers, while Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the expansion reflects growing confidence among global companies in India's manufacturing capabilities.

Jabil operates a global network of more than 100 manufacturing locations and has six decades of experience in engineering, supply chain and manufacturing solutions.
