IndiGrid Commissions 250 MW/500 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage Project at Bhadla, Rajasthan
IndiGrid, in partnership with EnerGrid, has commissioned a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) at Bhadla in Rajasthan. The project is held through the special purpose vehicle Rajasthan BESS Private Limited. It is reportedly IndiGrid’s third utility-scale BESS to become operational.
IndiGrid won the project from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited in 2024. It has viability gap funding support and a quoted tariff of about ₹2.37 lakh per MW per month.
The scope covers design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the facility. The project follows the build-own-operate model. AmpereHour Energy is the technology partner.
In May 2026, IndiGrid and EnerGrid commissioned a 180 MW/360 MWh BESS in Gujarat.
