IHCL Signs Tree of Life Kanadukathan, a 20-Key Heritage Hotel in Chettinad, Tamil Nadu
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of Tree of Life Kanadukathan in Chettinad, Tamil Nadu. The brownfield project involves the restoration and conversion of an existing heritage-style Chettiar property into a 20-key boutique hotel, developed in partnership with AMPA Group.
The property, located in Kanadukathan, will reflect the architectural character of the Chettinad region and will feature an all-day dining restaurant and lounge, along with a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. IHCL said the project extends its Tree of Life brand into a niche, experience-led heritage destination.
Kanadukathan serves as the cultural centre of Chettinad, drawing visitors for festivals such as the Chettinad Heritage Festival, Aadi Perukku and Navaratri. IHCL executives said the signing offers an opportunity to establish a presence in an emerging heritage tourism market, building on its ongoing partnership with AMPA Group.
With the addition of this property, IHCL's portfolio in Tamil Nadu will expand to 33 hotels, including 14 currently under development, reinforcing the company's continued focus on heritage-led tourism and emerging leisure destinations across the state.
