IHCL Signs 125-Room Gateway Hotel as Greenfield Project in Siliguri, West Bengal
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a Gateway-branded hotel in Siliguri, West Bengal. The company describes the project as greenfield. The sources reviewed do not name the owner or developer, give an investment figure, or state an opening date.
Gateway Siliguri will have 125 rooms and suites aimed at business and leisure travellers. Dining will include an all-day restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a bar. Other facilities are a swimming pool, a gym and a spa.
For events, the hotel will have a banquet hall of more than 10,000 sq ft, along with meeting rooms and pre-function spaces.
With this signing, IHCL's portfolio in West Bengal stands at 19 hotels, of which eight are operating and 11 are under development. An IHCL real estate and development executive said Siliguri is the gateway to North Bengal, the Northeast and Bhutan. He added that the signing fits the company's strategy of expanding in emerging growth centres.
Siliguri is a growing hospitality market. Another hotel group signed a 100-key greenfield hotel near Bagdogra Airport in October 2025, scheduled to open in 2028. Construction, interiors, MEP and hotel equipment suppliers can track the Gateway Siliguri project as it moves to the development stage.
