Hyundai Motor Group Commits $15.5 Billion to India Through 2032 for Manufacturing Expansion at Hyundai Motor India and Kia India, R&D Centre and Export Hub

Hyundai Motor Group has announced a $15.5 billion investment in India for 2026 to 2032, about ₹1.4 lakh crore as converted by media. The plan covers manufacturing expansion, R&D infrastructure, local supplier development for parts localisation, and future mobility businesses. The group will set up a dedicated investment entity in India to execute the plan. That entity will also coordinate funding, develop partnerships and identify local suppliers.

The group plans to expand production capacity at Hyundai Motor India Limited and Kia India. The aim is to meet rising domestic volumes and strengthen India’s role as a global export base. The announcement does not give capacity targets, plant locations or a split of the investment between Hyundai and Kia.

The release says the plan goes beyond new facility development. About $700 million is planned for the R&D centre, including a vehicle testing track. The group says this will support next-generation automotive technology development in India. Parts localisation and supplier development are formal pillars of the plan, which points to opportunities across the component supply chain.

The group employs more than 24,000 people in India. It expects the investment to generate employment across manufacturing, engineering, R&D and the supply chain.
